Key Ideas and Details
1 Students will read closely to determine what the text says explicitly and to make logical inferences from it; cite specific textual evidence to support conclusions drawn from the text.
RL.6.1. Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
Range of Reading and Level of Text Complexity
10 Students will read, comprehend and analyze complex literary texts independently and proficiently.
RL.6.10. By the end of the year, flexibly use a variety of comprehension strategies (i.e., questioning, monitoring, visualizing, inferencing, summarizing, synthesizing, using prior knowledge, determining importance) to read, comprehend, and analyze grade-level appropriate, complex literary texts independently and proficiently.
