Platyhelminthes, also known as flatworms, are a phylum of invertebrate animals that includes species such as planarians, flukes, and tapeworms. They are characterized by their flattened, ribbon-like bodies and are found in a variety of aquatic and moist terrestrialenvironments.
Characteristics of Platyhelminthes:
Body Symmetry: Platyhelminthes exhibit bilateral symmetry, meaning their bodies can be divided into two equal halves along a single plane.
Body Cavity: They are acoelomates, meaning they lack a true body cavity (coelom) between the gut and body wall.
