Telling Time

Telling time is the act of determining the time of day based on the position of the sun or the numbers on a clock or watch. It is an important skill that helps us organize our day and understand the concept of time.

Parts of a Clock

• Hour Hand: The shorter hand on the clock that points to the current hour.
• Minute Hand: The longer hand on the clock that points to the current minute.
• 12-Hour Clock: A clock that repeats the same 12-hour cycle twice in one day, denoting AM and PM.
• 24-Hour Clock: A clock that uses a 24-hour cycle, starting at midnight (00:00) and ending at midnight (23:59).

Reading Analog Clocks

To read an analog clock, follow these steps:

1. Look at the position of the hour hand to determine the hour.
2. Look at the position of the minute hand to determine the minute.
3. Combine the hour and minute to get the time.

Reading Digital Clocks

Digital clocks display time in numbers. The left two digits represent the hour and the right two digits represent the minute. For 12-hour clocks, AM or PM is usually displayed to indicate whether it is morning or afternoon.
