What is Motion?

Motion is when an object changes its position over time.

Types of Motion

Translational Motion: When an object moves from one location to another.
Rotational Motion: When an object spins or rotates around an axis.
Vibrational Motion: When an object moves back and forth around a central point.

Distance vs. Displacement

Distance: The total length of the path traveled by an object, regardless of its direction.

Displacement: The change in position of an object from its initial to final position, taking into account direction.

Speed vs. Velocity

Speed: The rate at which an object covers distance, calculated as distance divided by time.

Velocity: The rate at which an object changes its position, calculated as displacement divided by time, and including direction.

Acceleration

Acceleration: The rate at which an object's velocity changes over time, calculated as the change in velocity divided by the change in time.
