Cenozoic
The Cenozoic era is the most recent of the three major eras in Earth's history, and it is often referred to as the "Age of Mammals." It began approximately 66 million years ago and continues to the present day. The Cenozoic era is divided into three periods: the Paleogene, the Neogene, and the Quaternary.
Paleogene Period

Neogene Period
- Duration: Approximately 23 to 2.6 million years ago

- Key Events: This period includes the Ice Ages, the development of modern humans (Homo sapiens), and the rise of complex human societies.
