Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second-largest in the Solar System, after Jupiter. It is a gas giant with an average radius about nine times that of Earth.
Saturn is known for its distinctive ring system, which is made up of icy particles and dust. The rings are divided into several groups, each made up of thousands of smaller rings. Saturn is also known for its many moons, with over 80 confirmed natural satellites.
The atmosphere of Saturn is primarily composed of hydrogen and helium, with trace amounts of other elements. The planet's interior is believed to be composed of a core of iron–nickel and rock (silicon and oxygen compounds).
Saturn has been explored by several spacecraft, including NASA's Cassini mission, which orbited the planet from 2004 to 2017. Cassini provided valuable data and images of Saturn, its rings, and moons, greatly expanding our understanding of this fascinating planet.
