Veins

Structure of Veins

Disorders of Veins

- Varicose veins: Enlarged, twisted veins, often occurring in the legs, due to weakened vein walls and valves.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT): Formation of a blood clot in a deep vein, typically in the legs, which can be a serious medical condition if the clot dislodges and travels to the lungs.
- Chronic venous insufficiency: Decreased blood flow through the veins, leading to symptoms such as leg swelling, pain, and skin changes.
