Gases are one of the states of matter, along with solids and liquids. They have no definite shape or volume and expand to fill the container they are in. Gases are made up of molecules that are in constant, random motion.
Properties of Gases:
Expansion: Gases have the ability to expand to fill the entire volume of their container.
Compressibility: Gases can be easily compressed into smaller volumes.
Diffusion: Gases can mix and spread into each other to form a homogeneous mixture.
