The Eight Planets in Our Solar System

Our solar system consists of eight planets that orbit the Sun. These planets are categorized into two groups: the inner rocky planets and the outer gas giants.

Inner Rocky Planets

The inner planets, also known as terrestrial planets, are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. They are primarily composed of rock and metal and have solid surfaces.

Saturn: Known for its beautiful ring system, Saturn is the second-largest planet and has a low density, which would allow it to float in water if a body of water large enough were found.
Uranus: This planet is unique for its sideways rotation, likely caused by a collision with a massive object early in its history. It is often referred to as an "ice giant."
Neptune: The farthest planet from the Sun, Neptune has supersonic wind speeds and a bluish appearance due to methane in its atmosphere.
