Understanding Width

The "width" refers to the measurement of the distance from one side of an object to the other side, when the object is seen from its front or back. In other words, it is the measurement of how wide an object is.

To understand the concept of width, let's consider a rectangle. A rectangle has two pairs of equal-length sides. The longer pair is called the length and the shorter pair is called the width. So, if you have a rectangle with a length of 6 units and a width of 4 units, you can say that the width is the shorter side of the rectangle.
