Data analysis is the process of inspecting, cleaning, transforming, and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions, and supporting decision-making.
Types of Data
There are two main types of data: qualitative and quantitative.
Qualitative Data: Data that is descriptive and can be observed but not measured. Examples include colors, textures, and opinions.
Quantitative Data: Data that can be measured and expressed numerically. Examples include heights, weights, and test scores.
Steps of Data Analysis
Collecting Data: This involves gathering information through surveys, experiments, or other methods.
Organizing Data: Data is organized into a structured format, such as a table or graph, for easier analysis.
Describing Data: This step involves summarizing the main characteristics of the data, such as the mean, median, mode, and range.
Analyzing Data: Data is analyzed to look for patterns, trends, and relationships using statistical methods and graphical representations.
Interpreting Data: This step involves drawing conclusions and making predictions based on the data analysis.
