A rectangular prism is a three-dimensional shape that has six rectangular faces. It is also known as a rectangular solid or a cuboid. Each of its six faces is a rectangle, and opposite faces are congruent and parallel to each other.
Volume (V) = length (l) × width (w) × height (h)
Surface Area (A) = 2lw + 2lh + 2wh
1. Find the volume of a rectangular prism with length 5 cm, width 3 cm, and height 4 cm.
Volume (V) = 5 cm × 3 cm × 4 cm = 60 cubic centimeters
2. Find the surface area of a rectangular prism with length 6 m, width 4 m, and height 2 m.
Surface Area (A) = 2(6×4) + 2(6×2) + 2(4×2) = 104 square meters
