Colors

Colors are all around us and are an important part of our daily lives. In kindergarten, children learn about the basic colors and how to identify and differentiate between them.

Primary Colors

The primary colors are red, blue, and yellow. These colors cannot be created by mixing other colors together.

Secondary Colors

When primary colors are mixed together, they create secondary colors. For example, mixing red and blue creates purple, mixing red and yellow creates orange, and mixing blue and yellow creates green.

Learning Colors

Kindergarteners learn about colors through various activities such as coloring pictures, identifying objects of different colors, and learning color names through songs and games.

Color Recognition

Children are taught to recognize and name colors in their surroundings, such as in nature, clothing, and everyday objects.

Color Mixing

Kindergarteners also explore color mixing by combining different colors of paint to create new colors and understand the concept of how colors can be combined to form new ones.
