Hexagon
A hexagon is a polygon with six sides and six angles. The sum of the interior angles of a hexagon is always 720 degrees. Each interior angle of a regular hexagon measures 120 degrees.
There are various ways to classify hexagons based on their properties:
- Regular Hexagon: A hexagon with all sides and angles equal in measure.
- Irregular Hexagon: A hexagon with sides and/or angles of different measures.
- Convex Hexagon: A hexagon in which all interior angles are less than 180 degrees and the line segments joining any two points inside the hexagon do not intersect the exterior of the hexagon.
- Concave Hexagon: A hexagon with at least one interior angle greater than 180 degrees, and the line segments joining any two points inside the hexagon intersect the exterior of the hexagon.
Some common properties of hexagons include the formula for finding the perimeter of a hexagon, the formula for finding the area of a regular hexagon, and the various ways in which hexagons can tessellate or tile a plane.
