Natural resources are substances or materials that occur in nature and can be used for economic gain and sustenance. These resources are essential for the survival and development of living organisms, including humans. There are two main types of natural resources: renewable and non-renewable.
Renewable natural resources are those that can be replenished or replaced relatively quickly. They include resources such as sunlight, wind, water, and forests. These resources are considered renewable because they can be naturally restored or regenerated within a short period of time. For example, trees can be replanted and water can be purified and reused.
Non-renewable natural resources are those that are present in limited quantities and cannot be replenished within a short period of time. Examples of non-renewable resources include fossil fuels (such as coal, oil, and natural gas) and minerals (such as iron, copper, and gold). Once these resources are depleted, they cannot be easily replaced, making them finite in nature.
