Structure of the Radiative Zone
The radiative zone extends from the outer edge of the core to the beginning of the convective zone. It is composed of tightly packed gas and plasma, with the density and temperature decreasing as it approaches the convective zone.Energy Transport
In the radiative zone, energy is transported through the process of radiation. Photons, the particles that make up light, are emitted and absorbed by ions and electrons in the plasma. These photons travel in a random walk, bouncing from one particle to another until they reach the outer edge of the radiative zone.Characteristics
