In mathematics, a dividend is the number that is being divided in a division problem. It is the total quantity or amount that is to be divided into a certain number of equal parts. When performing division, the dividend is the number that the divisor is being divided into to obtain the quotient.
If we have the division problem 15 ÷ 3 = 5, then 15 is the dividend, 3 is the divisor, and 5 is the quotient.
