Troposphere

The troposphere is the lowest layer of the Earth's atmosphere, extending from the Earth's surface up to an average height of about 8-15 kilometers (5-9 miles) in the polar regions and 18-20 kilometers (11-12 miles) in the tropical regions. This layer contains about 75% of the atmosphere's mass and almost all of its water vapor and aerosols.
