Missouri

Missouri is a state located in the Midwestern region of the United States. It is bordered by eight states, including Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. The state capital of Missouri is Jefferson City, while its largest city is Kansas City. History

The area that is now Missouri was originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, including the Osage, Missouria, and Illinois tribes. In 1803, the United States acquired the territory as part of the Louisiana Purchase. Missouri became the 24th state to be admitted to the Union on August 10, 1821. The state played a significant role in the westward expansion of the United States and the development of the American frontier.
