Continents

Continents are large landmasses that are separated by oceans. There are seven continents on Earth: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.

Asia

Asia is the largest continent and is located in the eastern and northern hemispheres. It is home to the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest, and the largest country by land area, Russia.

Africa

Africa is the second largest continent and is located primarily in the eastern hemisphere. It is known for its diverse wildlife, including the "Big Five" animals: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros.

North America

North America is the third largest continent and is located in the northern and western hemispheres. It is home to the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as well as the world's third largest river, the Mississippi River.

South America

South America is the fourth largest continent and is located in the western and southern hemispheres. It is known for the Amazon rainforest, the largest tropical rainforest in the world, and the Andes, the longest mountain range.

Antarctica

Antarctica is the fifth largest continent and is located in the southern hemisphere. It is the coldest, driest, and windiest continent, and is covered by a thick layer of ice.

Europe

Europe is the sixth largest continent and is located primarily in the eastern hemisphere. It is known for its rich history, diverse cultures, and famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum.

Australia

Australia is the smallest continent and is located in the southern hemisphere. It is the only continent that is also a country, and is known for its unique wildlife, including kangaroos, koalas, and the Great Barrier Reef.
