Polygons
A polygon is a closed shape with straight sides. It can have three or more sides. Each side of a polygon is a line segment.
Examples of polygons include triangles, squares, rectangles, pentagons, hexagons, and octagons.
Here are some common polygons:
- Triangle - 3 sides
- Square - 4 sides
- Rectangle - 4 sides
- Pentagon - 5 sides
- Hexagon - 6 sides
- Octagon - 8 sides
Can you find any polygons around you? Look for shapes with straight sides and count how many sides they have!
