Area
Area is the measurement of the size of a surface or a two-dimensional shape. It is the amount of space inside the boundary of a flat object.
Calculating Area
To calculate the area of a rectangle, you can use the formula:
Area = length × width
For a square, since all sides are equal, you can use the formula:
Area = side length × side length
For a triangle, you can use the formula:
Area = (base × height) / 2
Units of Area
Area is often measured in square units such as square inches (in²), square centimeters (cm²), square feet (ft²), or square meters (m²).
